This camp is geared toward children with little or no experience around horses. On the ground they will learn horse safety, grooming, leading, how to tack up your horse and parts of the horse, saddle and bridle. Mounted activities include learning how to properly mount and dismount how to start and stop your horse, how to steer, ring etiquette and safety and more.

We also have many fun arts and crafts and activities through out the week. We will visit Purina Farms, Grants Farm or Long Meadow Rescue Ranch as well as go to the pool to cool off. Also, each camper receives a camp t-shirt that they get to tye-dye and decorate as well as a camp booklet with all the information they will need for discussions.

**Friday is Horse Show day! and BBQ!

This camp is geared toward children with limited experience around horses or who have been through Horsemanship I. On the ground, they will build confidence in grooming on their own, gain knowledge about the different types of horse breeds and colors and learn the basics of horse care and nutrition. Mounted activities will be a continuation of the principles they learned in Horsemanship I or from previous experience.

This is geared for adults with at least some experience with horses. During the 3 days we will touch on 3 of the most important things a horse enthusiast should know, horse and rider psychology, the importance of a fit rider and horse and how to manage your horse to ensure that he is happy. Our daily rides will coincide with that day’s discussion and build on previous experience.

You will receive an informational booklet containing all the information we will be covering in our discussions as well as your choice of a black or white River Ridge polo.
